The NCLR conference was an extraordinary experience, it gave me the opportunity to connect with Latino professionals from all over the nation that are doing all sorts of work to improve the lives of our community at large. Also to interact with passionate and driven youth that is getting ready to be the next generation of decision makers in the nation.
At a personal level, this conference really pushes the boundaries of what we “believe” our full potential is, it enhances our confidence to conquer our dreams and opens the doors to a world of resources and opportunities that are usually impossible to reach for many Latino students and emerging professionals.

I attended to a couple of workshops from Google and Facebook that had innovative information and that will definitely improve the work that I do at Lara Media.
Facebook is a company that believes in diversity and it is investing in hiring multilingual and multicultural people from diverse professional fields. Google created a program that benefits minority certified small business and non-profit organizations, learn more at google.com/diversity/suppliers
I also had the opportunity to listen to the powerful speeches by Martin O’Malley and Hillary Clinton, their presence at the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States was imperative for the decision of millions of Latino voters.
A memorable experience was when I was asked if I could help a group of leadership students with their social media, I shared my knowledge with them, took a picture and the next day, the person in charge of the group saw me at the hotel lobby and told me that because of my help, the group of students won a social media contest and got several prices, she was very thankful and gave me a hug.
A small gesture that I never thought would have such a huge impact is what I brought with me from the NCLR Conference. Never underestimate the power of your knowledge and actions, share what you know, help others unconditionally, treat everyone with respect, the feeling of appreciation is far more rewarding than what you could physically get.
Sincerely,
